In just under a fortnight the summer bank holiday weekend will have us all saying one final goodbye to the summer season in the UK. Of course, we’ll probably have a little bit of residual summering into early September too, but for now the summer is indeed on its way out.
But that doesn’t mean one last hurrah isn’t still on the cards. You need only look at one our big event from earlier in the month at Hog Roast Lewes, as our catering team came out to an exceptional summer garden party for one of our customers here in town. While the weather is still bright and warm, a garden party is a must. Even with weather warnings and hose pipe restrictions in many parts of the country, making the most of the summer is still an absolute must, and the best way to really cool down is by lounging around the garden with a cold drink and a fresh hog roast roll, courtesy of the Hog Roast Lewes team.
For this garden party, our head chef Marco figured that our signature hog roast was the way to go. While a barbecue might be a popular choice for a garden party, our hog roast provides that same comforting style of dining with an even better summer vibe and an immense spectacle to go with the whole experience too as we cook in the authentic spit roast style fresh on site. Once Marco was happy that our hog roast was suitably golden and crispy, he got to work hand carving and pulling the delicious tender pork to couple up with our homemade sage and onion stuffing, crispy crackling, and apple sauce in a bread roll or wrap. Guests could then pile their plate higher with our gourmet coleslaw and roasted baby new potatoes, or if they wanted a veggie variant then our grilled veg and halloumi skewers or our BBQ marinated pulled jackfruit was the perfect foil to our namesake roast.
