Starting the month as we mean to go on, this first weekend of August began with an event that will be taking up most of our weekends this month: a wedding.
Yes, the wedding season is carrying on apace, and the Hog Roast Uckfield team are not looking to slow down anytime soon. From about mid-May through to this first weekend of August we have been loving the summer wedding season. If you don’t love the extravagance, the joy, the celebration and love of a wedding, then event catering just probably is not for you. At Hog Roast Uckfield, a wedding is everything we want out of an event. Any caterer will tell you that it is the gold standard for events; it is the dining service that utilises the most parts of our skillset and puts your capabilities to the test best. With wedding dining, you have to always be at the very top of your game, even as the weddings keep on rolling in weekend after weekend going in 3 months straight.
This first weekend of August, and the first wedding of the month at Hog Roast Uckfield, took our team out to the brilliant Cedar Roof Barn – a rustic venue right in keeping with our very own rustic dining style. Here our head chef Marco cooked up a more classical wedding menu for 100 guests, as opposed to our more “out there” hog roast experience.
In this respect, the day began with a bespoke al fresco dining service. A great way of greeting guests into the dining reception and setting that light and summery tone is by having colourful antipasti platters ready to go right away. Our Al Fresco range delivers the finest Italian cuts and cheeses with artisanal breads, salad leaves, and dipping oils to go with it. A perfect starter preceding the main event, as the Hog Roast Uckfield team then presented our classic buffet selection – a main meat choice of either English lamb or rotisserie cooked roast chicken. To close out our dining service: dessert options of chocolate torte and tarte au citron, both served with fresh berries and cream.
