Our highlighted event of the week this week goes to a brilliant birthday celebration held right here in Redhill. Head Chef Marco and the Hog Roast Redhill team fired our famous hog roasting machines and headed on into town where we were delighted to cater for a very special 60th birthday celebration along with 35 other guests.
All birthdays are of course worth celebrating, but you get those milestone markers at each turn of a decade that just feel like they are worth even more somehow. 60 is most certainly one such milestone. It’s a turn into what could be considered your “elder” years, although you’ve still got plenty of youthful energy to make sure the celebrations are well observed. It’s the decade for your bus pass, possible retirement; it’s a decade that signals a new phase in life, and that, more than anything, is well worth celebrating the right way.
And what is the right way, you ask? Well with plenty of good company and good foods provided by Hog Roast Redhill, of course! Luckily for his customer, that is exactly what happened!
Head Chef Marco and the Hog roast Redhill team made sure to prep an extra special menu for such a brilliant celebratory event. For a 7pm serving time, we had our world famous hog roast cooking throughout the day in the traditional spit style. This, we find, preserves a certain stylishness and authenticity to the roast, while also delivering an incredible spectacle and even better tastes to boot! The turning action of the spit ensures a juiciness and tender meatiness right the way through the roast, while also allowing the skin outside to crisp up nicely and lock in all that flavour and texture. Prepped and served along with our own sage and onion stuffing and the crispy crackling that comes off the roast during cooking, it’s a perfect way to say hello to 60! Guests could also then help themselves to mixed leaves, tomato and mozzarella salad, creamy red cabbage slaw, herb dressed new potatoes, and grilled veg and halloumi skewers for a veggie alternative to our signature roast.
An incredible menu, matched by an equally perfect event where everyone got in on the fun to mark 60 glorious years and many more to come!
