Hog Roast Mickleham – Turning Back the Clock for an Excellent 70th Birthday Celebration

Hog Roast Mickleham At Hog Roast Mickleham we are all about the classics. A classic beef roast, a classic British barbecue, the classical dining style of authentic spit roast cooking – a signature amongst our speciality catering styles. Yes, with our namesake hog roast, we are very much fans of the classics.

And we’re not the only ones! Last week the Hog Roast Mickleham were invited to an extraordinary celebration that was all about turning back the clock to a time of the classics. This was a brilliant 70th birthday celebration, and to mark such an occasion the party had some excellent reminders of a time of classics, in 1956. For a party celebrating the classics, of course the only dining option was the event classic: our prized hog roast experience.

What a delight it was to be involved in such a birthday celebrations. Family, friends, old and new, came out to share in this fun-filled celebration. While 80 guests piled into St Michael’s Community nursery here in Mickleham, the Hog Roast Mickleham team made use of the outdoor grounds and the Hog Roast Mickleham spring sunshine to cook up our signature hog roast, to be served along with sage and onion stuffing, apple sauce, golden crackling, mixed salad, gourmet slaw, grilled veg and halloumi skewers, and a selection of bread rolls and wraps to pile your hog roast high on. It was a wonderful environment to cook in, made all the better by the lovely guests that came around to tell us just how good everything looked and how excited they were to tuck in once our roast was perfect and golden.

The Hog Roast Mickleham team also had our own fun time taking in some of the decorations of the party, including a poster that mapped out all of the cultural and historic events and prices of regular items all the way back in 1956. We were transported back to a time when Eisenhower gained re-election, Tom Hanks and Carrie Fisher were born, and a pint of beer only cost 10 pennies. We can only imagine what extraordinary a price one of our hog roasts would have gone for back then!
