Hog Roast Cuckfield – A Wintery Wedding in Need of Warming Up in Sussex

Coming into the January of a new year can sometimes be a little slow to start. After the busyness of the festive season and the costs associated with the Christmas night outs and holidays, events often take a bit of a backfoot during the first month of the year.

Not so for the Hog Roast Cuckfield team this year however, as we enjoyed catering for a wonderful winter wedding which has sparked 2026 into life for all involved right away! With Storm Goretti taking over the country, leading to some very snowy, icy, and windy conditions down here in Sussex over the last week and a bit, there were always going to be questions over the viability of certain events and our ability to cater for them. When it comes to a wedding however, little is going to put off the day – plus, half the reason for having a winter is for the off chance that you may actually get to enjoy an authentic white wedding with snowfall.

So, rather than falling to the conditions, the Hog Roast Cuckfield opted to make the best of the winter magic while we had it, making sure to cater a comforting roast to warm up the day for guests. Our catering manager Marco will tell you that the most comforting dish you can cater for a wedding is our signature hog roast. It is stylish, magical looking, magical tasting, and has all of that wintery comfort that you’d look for in a roast. For a wedding with one hundred guests, it was just the dish required while a storm raged on outside!

But all of that was easily forgotten as the lovely bride and groom dazzled and delighted through their ceremony and ensuing reception, with Hog Roast Cuckfield’s signature roast then adding the perfect topper to a simply magical occasion. Served along with sage and onion stuffing, apple sauce, accompanying salads and slaws, freshly made regular and sweet potato fries, and a vegan alternative of our BBQ marinaded pulled jackfruit with rolls and wraps all available in a buffet style service.
