We’re into September, so we can now look back and officially say…what a summer it has been at Hog Roast Albourne! Three months of back to back weddings each and every weekend, along with wedding fairs at our partner venues, stag and hen dos, engagement parties, wedding anniversaries – we’ve had the lot this summer wedding season.
With all that, anyone might reckon that the Hog Roast Albourne team are all weddinged out. Not the case! With each wedding we are reminded again and again what a privilege it is to be able to cater for someone’s special day. In what other jobs do you get to be a vital part of one of the most important days in someone’s life? Where else do you get to spend time with guests all turned out in their glitzy and glamorous best? Where else will you find so much love and joy in one room for a whole afternoon and evening?
This summer wedding season at Hog Roast Albourne was an excellent one, and we were able to wave goodbye to it the only way could ever be considered – with a wedding of course! This was a local one in Albourne held at a beautiful stately home with room in the surrounding grounds for all 163 guests – and Hog Roast Albourne’s catering equipment! Any notion that the team might be worn out going into this final summer weekend for another wedding were quickly dispelled when head chef Marco and the team got straight in setting up our signature hog roast. The pork roast buffet was due to be served with all the trimmings, including sage and onion stuffing, crispy crackling, apple sauce, tomato and mozzarella salad, creamy red cabbage slaw, mixed salad, herb dressed new potatoes, and a veggie alternative option of either our grilled veg and halloumi skewers or BBQ pulled jackfruit to round out this perfect summer wedding feast.
The team were great with the guests as ever. We had the sunshine to thank for making the day feel all the more pleasant and energising our team for this one last go around on the summer wedding season train! A great way to close things out, but there’s much more celebrating and dining to be done in the autumn events now!
