Elaine has worked at a care home in Sussex since it first opened in the 90s and she is now ready to retire after 30 years of hard work. Over the years, Elaine has seen hundreds of residents come and go and she has become a welcoming and friendly face for family members and friends during their visits. Saying goodbye to this job is going to be incredibly difficult for Elaine since she loves the care home, but she has definitely earned her retirement and it will be great to have so much more time to spend with her grandchildren. Her colleagues have organised a retirement party at the home which will be the perfect way to say goodbye. Hog Roast Turners Hill has been hired to cater for this occasion and our catering manager Marco has the perfect menu for the occasion.
On the day of the party, the Hog Roast Turners Hill team arrived at the care home in the morning and began to prepare for the 3:00pm serving time. We began by slow-roasting the hog and allowing it to cook to perfection for around five hours. Once ready, the pork was expertly carved and served in fresh bread rolls, alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. Additionally, we served halloumi and vegetable skewers, homemade chips, corn cobettes, and a tomato and mozzarella salad. Overall, this menu had plenty to go around and there was something for every guest to enjoy.
