What a brilliant day the Hog Roast Lingfield’s catering team had this past weekend. An event, a celebration, a birthday so good that, in fact, we’re naming it as our featured event of the week and we’re choosing to tell you all about it!
Now why was this event so special? Why, of all the events we have catered through the week, are we focusing on this one to tell you about? Well it is quite simple – it’s not often you get to cater a 90th birthday!
A hugely impressive age, one that we can all only hope to make in our own lives, a 90th birthday is cause for one of the biggest celebrations you can muster. And so that is exactly what happened at the weekend in Lingfield! Catering for 50 of the birthday host’s friends and family, Hog Roast Lingfield head chef Marco opted to go for the classic for such a celebration, our signature hog roast. With the sun out and the drink, the chat, the memories in full flow, our namesake hog roast was just the perfect topper to the celebration. Intended for such times, our hog roast brings even greater joy, even greater tastes to the lifelong memories made at such a vital and rare celebration. With the sun out to help it look all the more resplendent, golden and glistening, it just came that bit more even better!
As for the rest of our menu? Well it was just as special as our roast! As ever, our hog roast comes served with homemade sage and onion stuffing, golden crispy crackling for added texture, and refreshing apple sauce to add even more moisture and flavour. Then comes our salad options, in which we had a refreshing and summery tomato and mozzarella salad, creamy red cabbage coleslaw, and mixed salad. With every menu you need your potatoes, and our herb dressed new potatoes bring even more of that summertime flavour. As a great veggie backup to our meaty roast: grilled veg and halloumi skewers with tzatziki dip and sweet chilli sauce.
