Over the May Day weekend the Hog Roast Billinghurst were delighted to join for an excellent birthday event here in Billinghurst. With an extra day from work to enjoy, what better a time to celebrate not just one birthday, but two 60ths at once! More reason to celebrate; more hog roast dining for your buck – the perfect way to enjoy a May Day weekend.
For this double 60th our head chef had one very simple recommendation: our classic hog roast dining experience. When you have the sun and a lot of guests, there are few dining choices better. The Hog Roast Billinghurst namesake hog roast is famed for its style, its spectacle, as it cooks in the authentic spit style fresh at events. The look is more than matched by the taste, too, as the turning action of the spit ensures juicy flavour right the way through the pork with no dryness to be found in any bites. The long slow cook also allows the natural salty flavourings of the pork to further intensify, leading to a massive burst of flavour in every cut. The charring of the fire pit meanwhile leaves a wonderful crisp texturing across the whole skin, leading to that good crunch that you want in a roast while also further locking in the flavour of the pork.
Our guests for this double 60th party were able to find all this out firsthand. We provided one whole hog roast for the event to feed the 80 guests. One roast alone could feed about a hundred guests typically, but then we also provide plentiful accompaniments to further bulk out your portions, ensuring that seconds and even thirds are most definitely up for grabs too! For this one, it was our sage and onion stuffing, golden crackling, apple sauce, mixed salad, gourmet slaw, grilled veg and halloumi skewers, and plenty of bread rolls and wraps to mop up every bite of juicy pork with.
