At this time of year when we are all getting some much needed time off from work, it is worth remembering some of those integral members of the work forces that perhaps don’t have the luxury of a standard 9-5 schedule. Those, for example, in the NHS who will have to remain on call all through the festive period.
Here at Hog Roast Worthing we were very privileged to be able to aid some of these hard workers as we catered for the Christmas party for staff at the St Lawrence Surgery here in Worthing. No doubt many in the community will know all about St Lawrence and the work done there, so to be able to join the staff there and give them at least one night off to enjoy a festive celebration with offerings from our special Winter Warmer Menu was a true joy.
Any time off in the medical world is much appreciated, so our catering manager Marco knew that our menu had to live up to this brief reprieve for the NHS workers of St Lawrence. Of course, when it is comfort dining that you need then a roast is always going to be a great route to go. Christmas dining and our signature roasts come hand in hand, meaning the St Lawrence team got to enjoy an exquisite turkey roast from our Winter Warmer menu. Rotisserie cooked to match up to our signature hog roast, the Hog Roast Worthing turkey is a tender and crisp delight. There’s no dry meats here as our turkey comes out lovely and tender through every single bite with a well-crisped skin for added texture and flavour. Served along with our own cranberry sauce and our homemade sage and onion stuffing, it was a big winner amongst the St Lawrence staff.
But of course any Christmas menu has to have its accompaniments. That’s the joy of any Christmas dinner; pigs in blankets, cauliflower cheese, glazed carrots and sprouts, golden roast potatoes, and rich gravy to drown it all in. That’s Christmas and comfort right there!
From all at the Hog Roast Worthing team, we would like to thank our NHS staff for all of their hard work through the year, and we would like to wish a very special Merry Christmas for the brief break, too! Thanks for having us!
