When Ellen and her fiancé brought their first home, they knew they wanted to do something special to mark the occasion. The pair have been living together in rented accommodation since 2017, saving up to purchase their dream home whenever possible. This year they made the leap and found a beautiful home in Sussex that they have now moved into. To celebrate, the pair wanted to host a housewarming party to show off their new place and to thank their friends for helping them during the moving process. For the party, Hog Roast Charlwood was hired to provide a simple buffet menu to the guests while they enjoyed a tour of the home and plenty of champagne! Our catering manager Adam planned to serve a classic hog roast for the occasion, as this was most suitable for the party.
On the day of the event, the Hog Roast Charlwood team arrived at the home in the afternoon and set up our catering station in the garden, under a marquee. We began by preparing the hog and ensuring that it had plenty of time to roast to perfection before the 7:00pm serving time. Once ready, the meat was expertly carved and served in fresh bread rolls, alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. As well as the mains, we also served homemade chips and a selection of salad dishes to create a well-rounded and tasty evening buffet.
