There are few things more enjoyable in life than enjoying a freshly made pulled pork roll, other than perhaps being able to then wash that delicious salty pork roll down with a fresh craft beer as well. For the lucky goers of the East By Northeast Beer Festival last weekend such a dream was very much a reality as Hog Roast West Chiltington were fortunate enough to have been invited out to pair our delicious hog roast rolls with the local crafted beers on show. A pint and a pig: what better a pairing in the world could there possibly be?
The weekend long festival was a celebration of local brewers, allowing them to show off their newest brews with the public – some even before they have been fully released! The day also had live bands playing that were also each local to the area, and then joining the beer vendors were a couple of local food shops and restaurants. Hog Roast West Chiltington were privileged enough to be included in this list of local food vendors for the Saturday opening. Our team were on site early to have several hog roasts going and ready by the time gates opened to attendees.
For their choosing we had a most popular choice of our pulled pork rolls or wraps with the pork pulled fresh straight from a hog roasted whole pig. Our veggie alternative was our bbq pulled jackfruit to sub in for the pulled pork, or we had chicken skewers and veg and halloumi skewers too. While there our team got talking to some of the microbrewers around us too and we figured that we could perhaps offer a pairing with our rolls to some of their beers as well. They are of course the experts of all things beer so they were able to help guide customers to the right flavours to pair with such a meaty and deliciously salty treat.
It was a great day out not just for the attendees, but for our Hog Roast West Chiltington team too enjoyed the afternoon in the sun and listening to the many bands playing while they worked. We hope everyone we spoke to enjoyed it too!
