Lockdown Easing For Hog Roast Compton

Monday the 29th of March was undoubtedly a very special day for all of us, including our team here at Hog Roast Compton. With it marking the beginning of four lockdown-easing phases, this was a date that we had collectively pinpointed in our diaries, circled and underlined ever since Boris Johnson’s announcement all those weeks ago, setting a clear reminder that brighter days are not too far ahead.

Bringing back into force the ”rule of six”, Stage 1 of the roadmap out of lockdown allowed for groups of, yes, you guessed it, six people to meet outdoors. While this meant that we were unable to bring back our fully catered for services until the 12th of April, our crew were just glad to be out and about, serving delicious hog roasts to intimate gatherings.

hog roast comptonThanks to the Gourmet Delivery option that we implemented during the first half of last year, which now feels like a lifetime ago, Hog Roast Compton has been able to put a smile on people’s faces from a safe distance. And as soon as lockdown eased, we found ourselves fully booked with many more hog roast enthusiasts eager to try our succulent pork-filled rolls with all the trimmings.

So, on the Monday that lockdown officially eased, our catering crew spent the entire morning at HQ, slow-cooking whole pigs, using the juices from the meat to cook up a huge batch of flavourful sage and onion stuffing, which was then collectively packed into wholemeal baps with crispy crackling, gourmet coleslaw and sweet applesauce. Hog Roast Compton then quickly and carefully packaged all of the orders into cardboard boxes, readying them for delivery. With a couple of meat-free orders, the team had also prepared a few servings of or BBQ pulled jackfruit wraps with ‘slaw and our grilled vegetable kebabs with an option of added halloumi and tzatziki dip.

The team’s expert time-keeping skills meant that every customer and client received their order perfectly on time and still steaming hot. What’s more, we received glowing feedback on the authentic hog roast flavours, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. So, all in all, it was a job well done for Hog Roast Compton!
