Yesterday, we catered for a formal 18th birthday party with a Hog Roast in Newhaven at an imposing family home in the countryside. Gerald’s parents contacted us to find out more about our catering business, so we met up and discussed the various options that we have. We told them all about how we can help make a party or other event a success, as we provide the most popular hog and spit roast event catering in the country and take much pride in our professional service. We explained the different party menus that we have, which can be expanded on or changed to suit your tastes or wants, as well as the different budget options, and Gerald’s parents decided there and then that they wanted us to host their son’s 18th.
For a private party, we offer six different menus that you can choose from unless, of course, you want to create your own. This can range from a simple yet delicious pig in a bun for an informal occasion to a formal sit-down event that features several courses and a larger catering team. Gerald’s parents wanted the latter, to treat their son and his friends on his special day. The roasting hog was to be a great centrepiece under our marquee on the lawn, surrounded by decorated tables where more food options would be prepared.
So yesterday, on the day of Gerald’s 18th, we set off in the morning, complete with a huge hog to roast and various delicious canapés, starters, and desserts. We would be serving the pig buffet-style, together with apple sauce, stuffing and crackling – our speciality. We also had more food to be cooked fresh there as part of the main course – a whole turkey to be spit roasted and served with cranberries and stuffing and a vegetarian quiche alternative. My mouth is watering just thinking of the food that we made!
As the well-dressed guests began to arrive, our team served various scrummy canapés, including pate, chicken satay, duck, halloumi and kebabs. Starters of soup and salmon were served to the tables and then it was finally time for us to carve our great hog and turkey dishes in front of the wowed crowd. Summer pudding and lemon tart rounded off the fantastic food and then it was time for us to discreetly pack up and leave, to let the teenagers party the night away after another beautiful Hog roast in Newhaven.
